Voices of Flower Mound sound off

The Voices of Flower Mound presented its annual spring concert Saturday, May 11th, to a very enthusiastic audience.

The theme of this year’s concert was “There and Back Again,” a musical journey which transported the audience to the United Kingdom with familiar traditional songs such as Scarborough Fair, Danny Boy, and Loch Lomond. Then it was on to the European continent with a medley from the popular movie Les Miserables.

Featured guest soloist, Tenor Jay Samples, performed Nessun Dorma from the opera Turandot, and Stranger in Paradise. Highlighting the medley from Les Miserables was the song Castle on a Cloud, sung by guest soloist, Savannah DeCrow.

The Voices of Flower Mound community chorus directed by Mary McGuyer and accompanied by Kathy Tucker, is always open to new members who enjoy singing.

The music is predominantly from stage and screen, but the chorus has also participated in performances of Mozart’s Requiem Mass, Handel’s Messiah, and annual patriotic concerts with the Flower Mound Symphony Orchestra.
