Donations sought for sick veteran

A Flower Mound Realtor has adopted a local veteran suffering from cancer in honor of Memorial Day and the thousands of men and women who serve our country every day.

Jack Keeker is a United States Army veteran who served honorably for four years.

Upon exiting the Army, Keeker transitioned into a vocational school where he learned the skills necessary to repair and maintain hydraulic systems on a variety of diesel vehicles and has been working in the same field for more than a decade.

Keeker, 34, was recently diagnosed with colon cancer. He has gone through six weeks of intensive chemotherapy and radiation treatments that has prevented him from working. He also underwent invasive surgery to remove the tumor and cancerous tissues.

Currently, Keeker is on medical leave and will be out of work for several more months, which has put a financial burden on his family while he fights for his life.

Keeker is married with two young daughters; Madison, 5, and Mackenzie, 3.

Frankie Arthur & Associates of RE/MAX DFW will be contributing and coordinating a fundraising drive to help support the Keeker family.

Donations of cash or checks (payable to Jack Keeker) can be mailed or dropped off at Frankie Arthur & Associates of RE/MAX DFW, 3360 Long Prairie Road, Suite 100, Flower Mound, TX 75022.
