Flower Mound Sweeps Battle of the Mound
This round of the annual Battle of the Mound games between Flower Mound and Marcus High School went to the Jaguars this year in boys basketball, as the Jaguars defeated Marcus 59-52 on Feb. 1.

Flower Mound moved to 23-9 on the season with the victory and 5-2 in district competition.

Justin Gammill led the team in scoring with 24 points, while Ryan Reibly added 15 points in the game.

Sam Montgomery, Brandon Langley, Jacob Feickert and Connor Green combined for 20 points.

Lady Eagles Top Aubrey, Reach 25 Wins
The Argyle girls basketball team defeated Aubrey 31-23 on Feb. 1 to improve to 25-6 on the season, with a district mark of 4-3.

Jesse Sheridan led Argyle in scoring with 13 points, while Allea Harris added nine points in the game.

Delaney Sain, Morgan McInaney and Bailey Eschle also combined for nine points.

Marcus Pounds Creekview to Wrap Up Non-District
The Marcus girls soccer team ended the non-district schedule in style on Feb. 1, defeating Carrollton Creekview 4-0 to improve to 11-0-1 on the season.

Dani Murphy led the Lady Marauders in scoring with two goals, while Bailey Clayton and Courtney Forte each added a goal a piece.

Liberty Christian Finishes Second in State Duals
The Liberty Christian boys wrestling team finished second in the state duals on Jan. 26, losing in the semi-finals to St. Thomas 48-21.

LCS defeated St. Johns in a wrestle back 39-37 to get the second place finish, following the Warriors victory over Kincaid 50-27 in the third place match.

Argyle Hammers Aubrey, Remains Undefeated
The Argyle boys basketball team (21-8) improved to 6-0 in district competition with a 56-40 victory against the Chaparrals on Feb. 1 at Aubrey High School.

The Eagles were led by Zach Dickerson who ended the game with 22 points.

Spencer McCloud scored 8 points, Jonathan Davis had 9, J.C. Chalk had 6, and Colton Wilkes contributed 7.

Argyle’s defense kept Aubrey’s scoring in the single digits in the first and third quarters and forced at least 17 turnovers.

Guyer Boys Cruise Against Lake Dallas
The Guyer boys basketball team defeated Lake Dallas 48-30 on Feb. 1 to improve to 20-6 on the season, and 10-1 in district competition.

Miles Crawford and Jerrod Heard scored 15 points each in the game, while Sean Choate scored 11 points in the game.

Dave Dhaliwal, Justin Griffin, Alex Partridge, and Shelton Childress combined for seven points in the game.

Book Lifts Argyle Over Prosper
The Argyle girls soccer team defeated Prosper 2-1 in its second to last non-district game on Feb. 1.

Allyson Book led the Lady Eagles with two goals, and keeper Sierra James stopped five out of six shots on goal in the game.

Striker Hannah Neece leads Argyle in scoring throughout the non-district schedule with 15 goals and two assists.
