LISD rezoning meetings scheduled

Lewisville ISD is considering rezoning proposals for the nine elementary and three middle schools in the Flower Mound High School feeder pattern.

Last fall, LISD formed a committee comprised of two parents from each school in the feeder pattern charged with researching and developing scenarios that balance student population.

The committee whittled the options down to two rezoning proposals each for the elementary and middle schools on Tuesday night.

The school district will hold community meetings at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Forestwood Middle School and at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12, at McKamy Middle School to discuss the boundary proposals.

Following the community meetings, the committee will reconvene to consider suggestions and requests before presenting a final proposal to the LISD Board of Trustees in March.
