Former Flower Mound Town Manager Harlan Jefferson has been hired as Town Manager of Prosper, TX.
Prosper is a fast-growing suburb with a population of 12,000 located at the crossroads of U.S. 380, Preston Road and the Dallas North Tollway in northeastern Denton and northwestern Collin counties.
Jefferson was terminated by Flower Mound Town Council last October after serving six-and-a-half years as town manager. He had 36 months left on his contract.
“Harlan quickly rose to the upper level of our discussion because of his experience, leadership, temperament, and disposition,” said Prosper Mayor Ray Smith.
“Prosper is on the verge of major expansion, and we’re looking for someone who can relate to all levels of municipal development. We’re confident that Harlan can provide the leadership we need as we move forward.”
Jefferson will start his new role on Jan. 21 according to Interim Town Manager Lyle Dresher, who himself served as town manager of Argyle for five years ending last March.
