Double Oak Police Calls

Recent calls reported by the Double Oak Police Department:

10-04-2012  1:56 p.m. – Burglary of a Vehicle – 100 blk Cedarcrest Ln., Double Oak – A resident reported that their unlocked car was entered without permission and CD’s, identification and cash were stolen.

10-04-2012  9:27 a.m. – Welfare Concern – 200 blk. Willow Ct., Double Oak – A resident expressed concern over the welfare of a young child they had observed walking in the neighborhood.  Responding Officer located the parent and determined that everything was okay.

10-04-2012  11:03 a.m. – Welfare Concern – 200 blk. N. Simmons, Double Oak – Officer on patrol observed a young adult and her parent engaged in a verbal disturbance.  No offense was committed.

10-05-2012  12:37 a.m. – Suspicious Activity – 100 blk. W. Carruth Ln., Double Oak – Citizens reported unknown persons ringing their doorbell early in the morning.  Officer on patrol located the subjects and counseled with three visiting teenage boys and the adult resident they had been visiting.

10-05-2012  12:04 a.m. – Ordinance Violation (Barking Dogs) – 200 blk. S. Carruth Ln., Double Oak – Officer was dispatched to a barking dogs call (probably related to the young men ringing doorbells).

10-06-2012  9:34 a.m. – Alarm – 100 blk. Twin Lakes Dr., Double Oak – Officer responded to a residential alarm call and was met by a juvenile male (resident) who had accidentally triggered the alert letting the dog out in the morning.

10-06-2012  10:20 a.m. – Ordinance Violation (Parking) – 100 blk. Royal Oaks Dr., Double Oak – It was reported that an unknown motorist had parked facing the wrong direction on the reverse side of a hill creating a traffic hazard.  The owner of the car was located and they moved their vehicle.

10-06-2012  1:31 a.m. – Suspicious Circumstances – 8200 blk. FM407 and Jernigan Rd., Denton Cnty. – Unknown juveniles were throwing eggs at passing cars.  Officers found the eggs but did not locate the juveniles.

10-06-2012 5:22 a.m. – Welfare Concern – 8200 blk. Justin Rd., Copper Canyon – It was reported that a juvenile male was asleep on a church porch.  Upon further investigation it was determined that the young man was a runaway.  His mother was contacted and they were reunited.

10-07-2012  10:30 a.m. – Traffic Control – 600 blk. Hwy. 377, Argyle – Argyle PD requested assistance with traffic control due to a large motorcycle rally.

10-07-2012  5:10 p.m. – Disturbance – 100 blk. Meadowknoll Dr., Double Oak – Officer heard a motorcycle revving loudly and racing down the street at a high rate of speed.  Officer made contact and the disturbance ceased.

10-09-2012  7:18 p.m. – Suspicious Circumstances – 1500 blk. Conner Way, Lantana – A citizen reported an unknown person in a model home without permission.

10-09-2012  7:36 p.m. – Alarm – 1300 blk. Burnett Dr., Lantana – At request of Denton County Double Oak PD responded to a residential burglary alarm.  No criminal activity was detected.

10-10-2012  12:27 a.m. – Burglary of a Motor Vehicle – 8400 blk. Marsh Ln., Lantana – Double Oak Police Officer Blake Ringberg responded to a request for assistance from the Denton Police Department in the 8400 blk. of Marsh St., Lantana. Officer Ringberg observed a grey Honda, occupied by three males, that was alleged to be involved in multiple car burglaries in the City of Denton.  Officer Ringberg conducted a traffic stop and detained the occupants of the vehicle. Upon further investigation the two adults and one juvenile were placed under arrest by Denton Police for several car burglaries.  In the vehicle officers found multiple purses, personal identification, credit cards, and electronics belonging to persons who had not given the suspects permission to have possession of their property. Arrested and transported to the Denton Police Department: An 18-year-old man, 17-year-old man, and a minor male. There are ongoing investigations into multiple car burglaries in the Lantana / Double Oak  and Copper Canyon communities.  Any person with information about these or other offenses is asked to contact the Denton County Sheriff’s Department at 972-434-5500 or the Double Oak Police Department at 972-355-5995.

10-11-12  11:55 p.m. – Suspicious Circumstances – 300 blk. Highland Ct., Double Oak – A resident reported hearing a large thud from their living room and realized that they had left their garage door open.  Officers checked the garage and interior of the house and didn’t find any items missing.

10-11-2012  6:45 p.m. – Accident – FM 407 and Carruth Ln., Double Oak – Two car collision without serious injury.  Motorists drove away in their own vehicles.

10-12-2012  4:59 p.m. – Motorist Assist – 8800 blk. Justin Rd., Double Oak – Officer provided traffic control for a stranded motorist.

10-13-2012  3:47 p.m. – Criminal Trespass – 800 blk. McMakin Rd., Bartonville – Double Oak Officer dispatched to help Denton County Deputies on an in progress criminal trespass.  Upon making contact with the involved parties it was determined to be a problem that needed to be handled in civil court.

10-13-2012  3:29 a.m. – Driving While Intoxicated – 500 blk. Kings Rd., Double Oak – Double Oak Officer Blake Ringberg observed inconsistent driving behavior from a motorist and conducted a traffic stop.  Upon further evaluation Officer believed motorist Heather Helsey, 26 years of age, to be driving while intoxicated.  Ms. Helsey was placed under arrest and transported to Denton County Jail.

10-14-2012  9:46 a.m. – Harassment – 300 blk. East Carruth Ln., Double Oak – Complainant reported receiving harassing text and voice mails.
