Double Oak Police Calls

Recent calls reported by the Double Oak Police Department:

08-17-2012  7:12 a.m. – Public Intoxication – 2800 blk. Old Alton, Denton Cnty. – Double Oak Officer responded, at the request of the Sheriff’s department, to reports of an adult male acting suspiciously at Old Alton Bridge.  DOPD assisted with taking an adult male into custody for public intoxication.

08-18-2012  3:47 p.m. – Found Property – 3900 blk. Chapel Ct., Double Oak – A resident reported finding a mountain bike.  If you believe the bike to be yours please contact the police department at 972-355-5995.

08-18-2012  5:10 p.m. – Suspicious Activity – 100 blk. Chapel Hill, Double Oak – A resident reported that an unknown male in a silver car drove past his house multiple times at approximately 3:00 a.m.  The reportee had been standing outside with friends when the driver of the silver car approached and tried to talk to him.  Reportee found the behavior strange and reported the event to the police.

08-18-2012  6:50 p.m. – Traffic Control – 300 blk. Oak Trail Dr., Double Oak – Assisted FD with traffic control during residential fire.

08-19-2012  1:31 a.m. – Accident – 1900 blk. Justin Rd., Argyle – Assisted Argyle PD with investigating a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle mirror.  Pedestrian declined transport to the hospital.

08-19-2012  9:00 a.m. – Accident – 7800 blk. Justin Rd., Double Oak – One car accident that resulted in damage to roadway that was under construction.

08-20-2012  7:40 p.m. – Alarm –  100 blk. Hunters Hill Circle, Copper Canyon – Assisted Denton County Sheriff’s Office with investigation of an alarm call.

08-20-2012  10:46 p.m. – Criminal Mischief – 5500 blk. Lantana Trail, Lantana – A motorist reported unknown persons throwing rocks at his car.  Upon further investigation it was revealed that juveniles had been throwing rolls of toilet paper at the vehicle.  Officer was unable to locate the suspects.

08-20-2012  4:41 a.m. – Burglary in Progress / Suspicious Activity – 800 blk. Jeter Rd., Bartonville – Double Oak Officer assisted Bartonville PD with investigation into suspicious activity.  Juveniles were located and then released to parents.

08-21-2012  2: 38 a.m. – Suspicious Activity – 200 blk. Kings Rd., Double Oak – A caller reported seeing a male wearing dark colored clothing, white bandana and gloves at the corner of Kings Rd. and Simmons carrying an unknown object.  Caller reported that as they passed by the subject raised their arms at them.  Argyle PD assisted Double Oak PD with searching for the suspicious person.

08-22-2012  3:25 a.m. – Burglary of Vehicle – 8200 blk. Holliday Rd., Lantana – Double Oak Officer assisted Denton County Officers with search for a car burglary suspect.

08-22-2012  8:52 a.m. – Arrest –  Double Oak Officer arrested an adult male for traffic warrants issued by Flower Mound.

08-23-2012  10:41 p.m. – 8300 blk. Tyler Dr., Lantana – Double Oak Officer assisted Denton County Sheriff’s Office on a missing child call.  Missing child was found.

08-24-2012  12:17 p.m. – Animal Complaint – 200 blk. Simmons Dr., Double Oak – Officers found two loose horses and assisted with returning them to their pasture.

08-28-2012 1:59 p.m. – Solicitor Complaint – 100 blk. W. Carruth, Double Oak – Officer met with lawn care solicitors and explained vendor permit requirements.

08-31-2012  6:53 p.m. – Criminal Mischief – 100 blk. Valley View Trl., Double Oak – A homeowner reported a damaged water valve control box.

09-01-2012  1:04 p.m. – Illegal Burning – 3700 blk. Waketon Rd., Double Oak – Officer observed a resident burning brush on a burn ban day.  The resident doused the fire.

09-02-2012  7:48 p.m. – Accident – 8000 blk. Justin Rd., Denton Cnty. – Double Oak Officer assisted with traffic control while Texas State Trooper conducted an accident investigation on Justin / F.M. 407 Rd., Denton Cnty.

09-02-2012  12:35 a.m. – Assault – 9000 blk. Crockett Dr., Lantana – Double Oak Officer assisted Denton Cnty. Sheriff’s Office with investigation into a family violence assault with arrest.

09-02-2012  11:21 p.m. – Assault – 4300 blk. Meadowview Dr., Argyle – Double Oak Officer assisted Denton Cnty. Sheriff’s Office with investigation into an assault.

09-04-2012  11:45 p.m. – Accident – 2600 blk. FM 407, Bartonville – Double Oak Officer assisted Bartonville PD with investigating a major accident.

09-06-2012  9:09 p.m. – Harassment – 6000 blk. Pepperport Ln., Double Oak – A resident report receiving threatening electronic communications from a known person.

09-06-2012  1:44 a.m. – Disturbance – 900 blk. Stonecrest Rd., Argyle – Double Oak Officer provided assistance to Argyle PD with a distraught subject.  Subject was located in a parking lot and transported to the hospital.

09-07-2012  9:52 a.m. – Alarm – 200 blk. Oak Trail, Double Oak – Homeowner accidentally triggered alarm.

09-07-2012 5: 20 p.m. – Assist Fire Department – 200 blk. Fox Trot, Double Oak – Fire Department responded to a call in which a man had fallen from a roof top. 

09-07-2012  9:50 p.m. – Suspicious Person – 200 blk. Simmons, Double Oak – A resident reported that upon arrival at home an unknown male was in their driveway.  Suspect was a male wearing a hat, grey tank top, sweat pants and wearing a backpack.  Officer was unable to locate the subject.

09-08-2012  6:46 p.m. – Vehicle Disturbance – 200 blk. Cross Timbers Dr., Double Oak – Complainant reported a dirt bike that was extremely loud and driving up and down their street.

09-08-2012  7:35 p.m. – Reckless Driving – 500 blk. Kings Rd., Double Oak – A person driving a blue Mercedes, traveling at a high rate of speed and running a stop sign, was reported for reckless driving.

09-08-2012  9:31 p.m. – Suspicious Activity / Welfare Check – 100 blk. Stonewood Blvd., Bartonville – Resident grew concerned when he noticed his neighbors exterior light flashing on and off for over fifteen minutes.  Upon further investigation it was determined that a door was unsecure on the residence.

09-08-2012  2:09 a.m. – Animal Complaint – 300 blk. Orchid Hill Ln., Copper Canyon – Double Oak Officer assisted Deputies with two loose horses.  Horses were secured in a resident’s pasture until the owner could be located.

09-08-2012  2:37 p.m.  – Reckless Driving – 6200 blk. Kings Rd., Double Oak – Double Oak Officer attempted to detain a motorcyclist traveling at over 100 m.p.h. on Kings Rd.  Suspect was later observed and reported by a citizen for reckless driving in Bartonville.

09-09-2012  7:13 p.m. – Disturbance – 900 blk. Edmondson Dr., Copper Canyon – Double Oak Officer responded to the call with Sheriff’s deputies in Copper Canyon.  Double Oak remained on scene while an investigation into a disturbance was conducted.

09-10-2012  11:12 a.m. – Welfare Concern – 8100 blk. Justin Rd., Double Oak – Multiple witnesses reported an adult experiencing emotional distress.  Subject was transported to the hospital.

09-15-2012  5:40 a.m. – Assist Fire Department – 200 blk. Forest Ln., Double Oak – Officer responded to a medical call in which the patient was transported to the hospital.

09-15-2012  8:42 p.m. – Traffic Complaint – 100 blk. Cedar Crest Ln., Double Oak – A resident reported that the stop light on FM407 had ceased working.  Officer observed the light cycling properly.

09-15-2012  3:32 p.m. – Suspicious Person – 200 blk. Simmons Rd., Double Oak – A resident reported an unknown male knocking on and ringing the front door bell.  Upon further investigation it was
determined that a neighborhood child had been involved and their parent was contacted.

09-15-2012  12:45 p.m. – Disturbance – 100 blk. SH 377, Argyle – Double Oak Officer responded with Argyle Police to a disturbance involving child custody.  Double Oak remained on scene until the disagreement was determined to be civil in nature.

09-16-2012  4:19 p.m. – Vehicle Accident – 400 blk. Cross Timbers Dr., Double Oak – A motorist lost control of their car and stuck a cinder block mailbox. 

09-16-2012  10:26 p.m. – Burglary Investigation – 9000 blk. Thompson Dr., Lantana – Double Oak Office assisted Denton County Deputy with searching and securing a home that may have been burglarized.  No suspect(s) were found on scene.

09-17-2012  7:47 p.m. – Alarm – 100 blk. Shady Oaks Ln., Double Oak – A residential burglar alarm was accidentally triggered by a family member.

09-18-2012  7:18 p.m. – Alarm – 100 blk. Whispering Oaks Dr., Double Oak – A neighbor watching a house accidentally triggered an alarm.

09-18-2012  7:44 p.m. – Animal At Large – 200 blk. Simmons Rd., Double Oak –  A resident found a black lab running around loose.  Officer had possession of the lab when the dog’s owner contacted dispatch about a missing pet.  The lab was returned to it’s home.

09-18-2012  9:39 p.m. – Welfare Check – 5000 blk. Lusk Ln., Flower Mound – At the request of Flower Mound Police Department Double Oak PD assisted with searching for a juvenile male last seen near the golf course.

09-20-2012  12:28 p.m. – Harassment – 8100 blk. FM 407, Double Oak – Complainant reported by harassed via telephone by a known person.

09-21-2012  8:12 p.m. – Suspicious Vehicle – 300 blk. E. Carruth Ln., Double Oak – A resident reported a suspicious vehicle driving through their neighborhood.  Upon further investigation it was determined that the vehicle was involved in pizza delivery and had been looking for an address.

09-21-2012  8:58 p.m. – Suspicious Activity – 1100 blk. Triple Crown, Bartonville – Residents had heard suspicious noises coming from a vacant field.  Officer was unable to locate the source of the noise.

09-21-2012  10:04 p.m. – Suspicious Activity – Kings Rd., Double Oak – A citizen reported two suspicious persons in the vicinity of Kings and Range Roads.   Upon further investigation it was determined that they were passing out flyers for a business.

09-23-2012  12:51 a.m. – Accident – 5000 blk. FM 407, Bartonville – Double Oak Officer responded to a minor vehicle accident.  Officer remained on scene to direct traffic until accident was cleared.

09-26-2012  1:10 p.m. – Alarm – 100 blk. Willow Oak Ct., Double Oak – A residential burglar alarm was activated.  No evidence of criminal activity was found.

09-26-2012  3:01 p.m. – Assist Agency (Hit and Run Investigation) – 300 blk. Oak Trail, Double Oak – Double Oak Officer assisted Flower Mound PD with contacting a party who was possibly involved in a hit and run accident in Flower Mound.

09-27-2012  7:20 a.m. – Ordinance Violation – 200 blk. South Carruth, Double Oak – A resident reported that his neighbor’s dog was continually barking.  Officer made contact with the dog owner and they placed the dog inside their home.

09-28-2012  2:52 p.m. – Fraud – 100 blk. McMakin Rd., Double Oak – A resident has received multiple phone calls from a fraudulent company claiming that they have won a substantial cash and vehicle prize in a drawing.  Once the caller has the victim’s attention they insist upon cash payment prior to providing the prize.  Caller appears to be from outside of the United States.

09-29-2012  8:25 p.m. – Assist Agency (Accident Investigation) – 7000 blk. Justin Rd., Denton County – Double Oak Officer assisted State Trooper with traffic control at the scene of a motor vehicle collision.

09-29-2012  10:26 p.m. – Disturbance – 100 blk. Trailing Oaks Dr., Double Oak –
Officers were dispatched to a family dispute involving parents and their adult child.  Disturbance was quelled when the adult child voluntarily departed the residence.

09-30-2012  9:17 a.m. – Criminal Mischief – 100 blk. S. Forest Ln., Double Oak – A resident reported an unknown vehicle running over their mailbox.  Officers were able to locate the driver of the vehicle and document the collision.

09-30-2012  11:46 p.m. – Assist Agency (Barricaded Person) – 13800 blk. Raceway Dr., Northlake – Double Oak officer was dispatched to assist North Lake PD regarding a person with a gun who had barricaded themselves inside an apartment.  Officer was disregarded when subject surrendered to law enforcement.

10-01-2012  8:26 a.m. – Burglary of Motor Vehicle – 100 blk. Chapel Hill Dr. – Officer located the owner of a vehicle that had been broken into earlier during the weekend and initiated an investigation.  Items missing from the vehicle included approximately ten dollars and a vehicle part.

10-02-2012  9:35 a.m. – Audible Alarm – 100 blk. Timber Leaf Ct. – Double Oak Officer responded to a residential alarm.  No evidence of criminal activity was found.
