Flower Mound to ground spray for mosquitoes

The Town of Flower Mound will conduct ground spraying operations in two areas this week.

Spraying operations will take place in the one-half square-mile radius surrounding the Glenwick Subdivision near Bridlewood and southeast of the intersection of FM 1171 and FM 2499 extending to Firewheel on Thursday through Saturday, Sept. 20-22, between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Flower Mound has identified those two areas where multiple unrelated human cases have been lab-diagnosed and are in close proximity to each other.  There have been 27 human West Nile cases in Flower Mound so far this year.

Spraying operations may be rescheduled if weather conditions are not suitable.

Residents in the affected neighborhoods will be notified by CodeRED as well as with community signs placed at major intersections within the spraying area, and are advised to minimize exposure when possible.
