Mayoral and town council candidates had the opportunity to address the public Tuesday evening at the annual Flower Mound Area Republican Club Candidate Forum at Salerno’s Restaurant.
Participants included Mayor Melissa Northern and challenger, Councilman Tom Hayden, Place 2 incumbent Al Filidoro and Bryan Webb, and Place 4 incumbent Steve Lyda and Steve Dixon. Two candidates did not show up: Mayoral candidate Al Cloud and Place 4 candidate Jay Cannon.
Five candidates for Lewisville ISD school board also participated in the forum.
Each candidate had five minutes to cover topics previously submitted by club members.
The Cross Timbers Gazette newspaper provided promotional support and worked with Flower Mound-based Online Video Solutions to videotape the forum. Watch the candidate forum videos here.
The next opportunity to meet the Flower Mound candidates is at the Flower Mound Seniors in Motion candidate Meet and Greet on Tuesday, April 24, at 10:30 a.m. at the Shirley Voirin Senior Center.
An outdoor voter registration rally will be held Monday, April 23, in the parking lot of Dr. Jackie Stanfield’s VIP Dental Care at 3401 Cross Timbers with Jon-David Wells broadcasting his “The Wells Report” radio show on KSKY-AM 660 live between 5 and 8 p.m.
Election Day is May 12. Early voting runs from April 30 to May 8.
