Flower Mound firefighters endorse Hayden and Dixon

The Flower Mound Professional Firefighters Association has endorsed Tom Hayden for Mayor and Town Council candidate Steve Dixon.

Dixon, who is challenging incumbent Steve Lyda in Place 4, said that a public endorsement from the Association is very much appreciated.

“I am humbled and honored that the Flower Mound Professional Firefighters Association has endorsed me for Town Council this year,” said Dixon.

According to a press release from the organization, “While the organization has historically supported candidates through internal endorsements, the group as a whole believes the outcome of this particular election will impact the future of Flower Mound and the Fire Department well into the future. The gravity of the public safety, budgeting, and leadership issues facing the Town moved the association to a public endorsement.”

“In the wake of an economic recession, Flower Mound is facing difficult budgeting decisions, Mr. Dixon & Mr. Hayden understand the importance of adequately staffing and funding the fire department to ensure our families, homes and property remain safe,” said FMPFA President Mike Baldree.

Election Day is May 12.
