Dishing it out for students

Flower Mound Mayor Melissa Northern and Town Council members competed in a Tamale Eating Contest to raise money for the Lewisville ISD Education Foundation at the Kwik Kar Flower Mound Fall Kickoff Event on October 15th.

The Lewisville ISD Education Foundation raises funds for classroom grants and student scholarships.

The event featured live entertainment, free food, children’s activities and a silent auction which raised $2,000 for the foundation.

The Lewisville High School Latino Club also performed traditional folk dances from Mexico. Burgers and hot dogs were dished out by Texas Roadhouse, Red, Hot, and Blue, and the Summit Club of Flower Mound.

“I really enjoy giving back and helping the kids achieve their goals. After all, the kids are where our future is,” said Bill Mitchell, owner of Kwik Kar Wash Flower Mound.
