Lakeside Aquatic Club announced that two of their swimmers have been named to USA Swimming’s Scholastic All-America Team.

Shelbi Ragsdale, 17, and Alex Sellers,16, qualified by maintaining a minimum grade point average of 3.5 and meeting rigorous time qualification standards.

Sellers, a resident of Flower Mound and junior at Flower Mound High School, has qualified in the 100 & 200 Freestyle in short course and also the 50, 100 and 200 Freestyle in long course times.

Ragsdale, a Lantana resident and senior at iSchool High, a charter school in Lewisville, has qualified in the 400 IM long course and short course, 200 IM long course and short course, 100 fly long course and short course, and short course 100 & 200 breast.

The qualification times place the girls as some of the fastest youth women swimmers in the country.

“I am so proud of our swimmers when they can reach their potential. These two girls are what all of our swimmers practice and hope to achieve,” said Lakeside Aquatic Club Head Coach Jason Walter.

“I believe swimming is a great sport that shows kids that hard work can lead to success. This is evident with their success in and out of the pool.”
