Seeing her way through

Marcus High School senior Ashley Hunter recently held a fundraiser at Palio’s Pizza in Highland Village in honor of Lydia Hood, a 3-year-old girl who was diagnosed with a rare disorder called Optic Glioma, a brain tumor that invades the optic nerves and affects vision.

Lydia is the daughter of Marcus history teacher Jesse Hood and 20 percent of the proceeds from the event went to her family to help with medical expenses.

To make a donation to assist the Hood family, contact Jesse Hood at [email protected].
