Blanton and E.P. Rayzor elementary school students will have the opportunity to meet their teachers prior to the first day of school at Open House events.
The two elementary schools have planned special “Meet the Teacher” nights for students to find their classrooms, drop off their school supplies and meet the teachers and staff. For students who have not yet registered, their parents need to do so as soon as possible at their designated school between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekdays.
The purpose of these open houses is to help streamline the first day of school traffic and dissipate those first-day jitters for the students, school officials said.
The first day of school for elementary students starts at 7:50 a.m. Monday, Aug. 22.

WHERE/WHEN: Blanton Elementary: 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18.
E.P. Rayzor Elementary: 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, for kindergarten and 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, for all other students.
