Double Oak Police Calls

Recent calls reported by the Double Oak Police Department:

06-23-2011  11:07 a.m. – Suspicious Circumstances – 100 blk. Simmons Rd. – A concerned citizen reported an unknown person taking photographs of a residence.  Officer was unable to locate the subject.

06-23-2011  9:15 p.m. – Fireworks Complaint – 6000 blk. Hawks Rd – Citizen was concerned about fireworks being discharged in the unincorporated portion of Denton County.

06-26-2011  5:54 a.m. – Suspicious Circumstances – 400 blk. Cross Timbers – A citizen reported and unknown male knocking on their front door.  It was later determined that the male was at the wrong location.

06-27-2011  8:47 a.m. – Disturbance / Traffic Complaint – 400 blk. Simmons – Road crew member and a motorist argued about traffic control on Simmons.

06-27-2011  1:35 p.m. – Solicitor Complaint – 100 blk. Cedarcrest Ln. – Officer responded to a solicitor complaint, located the offender, and directed them to Town Hall for a vendor’s permit application.

06-27-2011  6:45 p.m.  – Business Alarm – 8000 blk. Justin Rd. – Cleaning crew inadvertently triggered alarm.

06-28-2011  8:09 p.m. – Assist Agency – 100 blk. Kings Rd. – Double Oak Officer assisted Flower Mound PD with an arrest.

06-28-2011  10:33 p.m. – Missing Horse – 200 blk. Meadowknoll – A resident reported that their chestnut mare was missing.  Horse was located on 06-29-2011.

06-29-2011  12:30 p.m. – Criminal Mischief – 700 blk. Cross Timbers Dr. – Unknown person struck a resident’s mailbox causing damage.

07-01-2011  1:05 a.m. – Assist Agency – 200 blk., N. Hwy 377, Argyle – Double Oak Officer assisted Argyle PD with traffic stop and vehicle search.

07-01-2011  9:18 a.m. – Assist Fire Department – 100 blk. Double Oaks Dr. – A Double Oak resident was using a garden tractor when he accidentally drove off the edge of a culvert.  Two witnesses rushed to the resident’s aid, pushed the garden tractor off their neighbor and called for police / fire assistance. 

07-04-2011  4:01 a.m. – Accidental Gunshot – 100 blk. N. Forest Ln. – Two high school age males were practicing loading and unloading a small caliber pistol when it accidentally discharged striking one of them in the chest.  Gunshot victim was transported to the hospital and has since returned home.

07-04-2011  10:25 p.m. – Suspicious Vehicle – 300 blk. Valley View Trl. – Double Oak officer found juveniles in possession of alcohol and tobacco without adult supervision.  Parents were notified and citations were issued.

07-04-2011  2:26 p.m. – Criminal Trespass – 700 blk. Cross Timbers Rd. – A Double Oak resident reported persons on their property, without permission, picking blackberrys.  Contact was made with the offenders and they left the area.

07-04-2011  9:29 p.m. – Fireworks Complaint – 200 blk. Kings Rd. – Officer was unable to locate the violators.

07-04-2011  2:07 a.m. – Noise Complaint – 300 blk. Thornhill – Officer responded to a large party.  Resident advised that their guests were leaving.

07-05-2011  3:40 a.m. – Assist Agency – 1000 blk. Maple Dr., Bartonville – Double Oak PD assisted Bartonville with traffic control at the scene of a structure fire.

07-09-2011  2:41 a.m. – Assist Agency – 100 blk. Harpole Rd. W., Argyle – Double Oak Officer assisted Argyle PD with traffic stop investigation.

07-10-2011  8:58 a.m. – Assist Citizen – 100 blk. Lake Trail – Officer found jogger who had fallen in the roadway.  Officer stood by until Fire Department assistance was obtained.

07-12-2011  2:42 p.m. – Assist Agency – 1000 blk. Copper Canyon Rd. – Double Oak Officer assisted Argyle Fire Department with establishment of a landing zone for a Care Flight helicopter.

07-12-2011  7:44 p.m. – Telephone Harassment – 100 blk. Thornhill Circle – Complainant reported receiving a harassing phone call.

07-12-2011  8:53 p.m. – Fireworks Complaint – 300 blk. Meadowknoll Dr. – A resident called regarding fireworks being set off in a field behind their house.

07-12-2011  11:30 a.m. – Social Services – 300 blk. Waketon – Patrol Officer assisted homeless teen with finding shelter in Denton, TX.

07-15-2011  5:25 p.m. – Lost Wallet – 8000 blk. Justin Rd. – Complainant reported a wallet missing after having visited a local business.

07-16-2011  8:50 p.m. – Solicitor Complaint – 100 blk. Brown Cliff Ct. – Officer was unable to locate the solicitor.

07-16-2011  10:59 p.m. – Fireworks Complainant – 300 blk. Valley View Trl. – Officer was unable to locate the suspect setting off fireworks.

07-17-2011  12:26 a.m. – Suspicious Circumstances – 100 blk. Eagles Peak Ln. – A resident reported an unknown vehicle parked in front of a house under construction.  Upon arrival officer determined that young adults were fishing in a nearby pond, they were advised that the pond belonged to an HOA and they departed the area. 

07-17-2011  11:48 a.m. – Disturbance – Two female cyclists reported a man in a Dodge “dually” pickup truck stopped and yelled at them for being in the roadway.  Officer was unable to locate the truck.

07-17-2011  4:07 p.m.  – Solicitor Complaint – A resident reported a vendor who was selling door to door without a permit.  Vendor was located and stopped.

07-18-2011  1:40 p.m. – Suspicious Vehicle – A resident reported an unknown van parked in their neighborhood.  Responding officer spoke to a nearby homeowner and determined that the van belonged to the homeowner’s son.

07-19-2011  10:00 a.m. – Identity Theft – Complainant filed a report regarding the theft of their identity.

07-19-2011  12:41 a.m. – Assist Agency – 8700 blk. U.S. Hwy 377, Argyle – Double Oak Officer assisted Argyle PD with a vehicle search.  One person was taken into custody.

07-20-2011  4:44 p.m. – Assist Agency – 1200 blk. Saddlebrook, Bartonville – Double Oak Officer assisted Bartonville with an assault investigation.

07-20-2011  1:19 a.m. – Assist Agency – 100 blk. Pheasant Run Rd., Denton Cnty. – Double Oak assisted Denton County Sheriffs Department on an alarm call.  Officer made contact with the resident.

07-21-2011  10:20 a.m. – Solicitor Complaint – 100 blk. Maple Leaf – A resident called concerning a solicitor without a permit.  Solicitor was located, the vendor ordinance was explained and the vendor departed.

07-21-2011  8:32 p.m. – Minor Accident – 200 blk. Rancho Vista Dr. – Officer responded to a minor vehicle accident.

07-23-2011  11:44 a.m. – Solicitor Complaint – 100 blk. Cross Timbers – Adult male going door to door selling roofing.  Officer determined that subject did have Town solicitor permit and no action was taken.

07-21-2011  2:38 a.m. – Assist Agency – 400 blk. Hwy 377 N., Argyle – Double Oak Officer assisted Argyle PD with a DWI arrest.

07-23-2011  8:03 p.m. – Loose Livestock – 5200 blk. Shiloh Rd. – Double Oak Officer found a loose.  The owner of the livestock was contacted and he placed the bull back on his property.
