Church to hold community patriotic festival

The members of Lamb of God Lutheran Church in Flower Mound are inviting the community to join them to thank the people currently serving in our military and honoring those who have served in the past, with their first Patriotic Festival this Sunday, May 22, at 4 p.m.

The church, located at 1401 Cross Timbers Road, will celebrate through various activities including music, a flag ceremony, bounce house, face painting and a free barbecue picnic.

Lamb of God will accept donations to help a local veteran who was injured in January 2008 while serving in the Army as an E-4 Specialist in Iraq.

The Humvee she was riding in rolled over three times, resulting in a traumatic brain injury.  She has limited use on the right side of her body, with constant pain in her foot.  Donations will be collected to assist with foundation repairs needed in her home.  Thrivent Financial will provide matching funds for donations collected at the festival.
