Whittaker will be a great addition to council

A seat on the Flower Mound Town Council involves a lot of thankless work. But Jeff Whittaker is used to that.

 You can’t drive very far in town without seeing a project that he’s helped with. You can see the projects — the hospital, the senior center, all of our beautiful parks, the Chamber of Commerce, he’s been active with all those and more — but you can’t see his name on any of them, because he’s helped quietly, behind the scenes, without seeking the spotlight.

 Jeff has generously lent his expertise as a certified public accountant AND a certified financial planner. You have to be mighty sharp to pass just one of those exams, let alone both.

 Last year Texas Monthly named Jeff one of its “Five Star Wealth Managers,” based on a survey of movers and shakers in Dallas-Fort Worth. You had to read the fine print to find his name, though, because he didn’t buy one of the chest-thumping ads that the magazine sold to the flashy stockbrokers.

Jeff is quiet, thoughtful, sensible and smart. His campaign hasn’t been full of light and noise. If you’re not paying attention, you might miss him.

That’s why I’m writing — to tell the voters of Flower Mound that Jeff Whittaker is one of the finest people I’ve ever known. He will be a great addition to our Town Council. He’s got my vote.
