Lewisville ISD honored Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jerry Roy with a special community retirement celebration at Career Center East last Thursday.
During the reception, Robin Vaughan from Congressman Michael Burgess’ office read a special Extension of Remarks that the Burgess inserted into the Congressional Record.
Board of Trustees President Carol Kyer also said a few words and attendees viewed a special commemorative video presentation for Dr. Roy.
Also, Kyer surprised Dr. Roy with the news that employees, community members, PTA’s and businesses donated more than $30,000 to create the Dr. Jerry Roy Fellowship through the Lewisville Education Foundation.
The Fellowship will be awarded annually to an LISD employee looking for educational leadership opportunities.
