Holiday Open House in Argyle
Stop by American Pet Spa & Resort on Hwy 377 in Argyle between Dec. 17 and 22 from 6 to 9pm and see their Magical Holiday Light Show. The resort will be adorned with thousands of lights and Christmas decorations, and you can stroll through and enjoy hot cocoa and coffee, see all the animals, tour Ranch Hand Rescue and visit with Santa. Charity to Give Away Super Bowl Tickets
The Children’s Advocacy Center for Denton County is hosting a charity raffle for a pair of Super Bowl XLV tickets at Cowboys Stadium and a VIP Experience Package, worth $8,400. Raffle tickets are $50 for one ticket or $100 for three. The drawing will be held on Jan. 6, 2011 at Walt Garrison’s Restaurant in Parker Square at 7:00pm. Give the Gift of Reading
Barnes & Noble in The Shops at Highland Village is holding a Holiday Book Drive through Jan. 1, 2011 for Communities In Schools of North Texas, an organization that serves over 2,000 at-risk youth in the Lewisville and Denton school districts. Gently used books are being collected at the store, located at 4100 Deer Creek in Highland Village.

Bluegrass Fest is Back
The Argyle Bluegrass Festival returns next year and tickets are going fast. The event will be held March 4 & 5, 2011 at Cross Timbers Church on Hwy 377. Show organizers booked award-winning bands that guests have requested, including The Travelin’ McCourys, Nashville Bluegrass Band and Peter Rowan Bluegrass Band. Get in the Holiday Spirit and Help Local Arts
Join Flower Mound Performing Arts Theatre in Parker Square this holiday season with a special screening of the classic film It’s A Wonderful Life. Admission is by donation, with a suggested donation of $10, and all proceeds benefit FMPAT’s 2011 Season and Youth Programs. Show times are December 20, 21 & 22 at 7:30pm, with caroling and entertainment before each show. Company to Award Annual Scholarships
Flower Mound-based Heritage Health Solutions, Inc. has established a non-profit Academic Excellence Foundation that will offer a scholarship program to public, private, and faith-based school students living in the Lewisville ISD boundaries.
