Farm animal rescue group to hold fundraiser

American Pet Spa & Resort is sponsoring Honky Tonk for Horses – a benefit for Ranch Hand Rescue, an Argyle-based farm animal sanctuary & rescue operation.

Honky Tonk for Horses will be held at The Mule Barn in Justin on Dec 16th from 6:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.

Headlining the event will be Texas singer/songwriter Randy Brown, and will feature Texas bands; Steve Helms, The Deaf Cats, Andy Meadows, Christine “CC” Cross, Willie Cordova, Sammy Fox, “Boomin” Gen Mills & Steve Shick from The Amos Moses Band. The bands have all donated the costs of their performances to the non-profit organization.

Andrew “AC” Carver of Ft. Worth radio station The Ranch (95.9 FM) will be on hand to emcee the proceedings and there will be a silent auction and raffle featuring items from area merchants. There is no cover charge for the event.

Honky Tonk for Horses will raise money and awareness of the need to help abused farm animals in our communities.

“While thousands of animal shelters in the US are designed for cats and dogs, only a small handful of such facilities are capable of sheltering farm animals.  That’s where Ranch Hand Rescue comes in,” according to a press release submitted by the organization.
