Double Oak Police Calls

Recent calls reported by the Double Oak Police Department:

October 29
8:59 a.m.  8000 blk. Justin Rd. – Assist Agency – Double Oak Officer assisted Sheriff’s Department with motor vehicle collision on FM407 until proper jurisdiction was determined.

11:34 p.m.  100 blk. Oakview – Fireworks – Citizen was concerned about fireworks from party located in Flower Mound that had an event permit.

October 30
1:17 a.m.  100 blk. Carruth Ln. – Noise Complaint – Officer responded to call regarding noisy neighbors.

9:33 a.m.  900 blk. F.M. 407 E. – Assist Agency – Double Oak Officer assisted Argyle Police Department with traffic control at a jacknifed trailer at FM 407 and Gibbons Rd.

2:56 p.m.  11000 blk. Hilltop Ln. – Assist Agency – Double Oak Officer assisted Denton County Sheriffs Office and Denton Police Department with traffic control on a man with a gun call.

October 31
12:42 a.m.   IH 35 Argyle – Assist Agency – Double Oak Officer assisted Argyle Police with a suspected drunk driving investigation.

1:19 a.m.  100 blk. Lake Trail – Suspicious Persons – A citizen reported persons on foot.  Officer was unable to locate anyone.

4:15 a.m.  1000 blk. Copper Hill Circle – Suspicious Person – Double Oak Officer assisted Denton County with a person trespassing on private property.

4:49 a.m.  100 blk. Hwy 377 – Assist Agency – Double Oak Officer assisted  Argyle and Denton Police Departments with traffic control at the scene of a vehicle collision.

11:10 p.m.  6000 blk. Hawk Rd. – Residential Burglary – An unknown suspect or suspects forced open the front door and removed a 50″ inch Vizio flat screen television, a Sony Vaio laptop computer, prescription medicines and a change jar.  It is believed that the offense happened after the hours of darkness and that the suspect parked a vehicle in the driveway to load up the television.  Anyone with information regarding this offense is urged to contact Lieutenant Ruben Rivas at 972-355-5995.

November 1
11:32 a.m.  200 blk. Forest Lane N. – Disturbance – Officer responded to a disturbance involving two siblings fighting.  Disturbance was quelled and no further action was taken.

November 2
4:20 p.m.  500 blk. Waketon – Motorist Assist – A young motorist drove off of Waketon and had to be recovered by a wrecker.

November 3
2:11 p.m.  200 blk. Cedar Crest Dr. – Credit Card Abuse – An unknown suspect used a Double Oak resident’s credit card to order computer equipment from Hewlett-Packard.

6:30 p.m.  700 blk. Simmons Rd. – Water Main Break – Officer assisted with traffic control at a water main break.

November 5
9:06 a.m.  100 blk. Kings Rd. W. – Reckless Damage – An unknown person wrecked their motor vehicle and damaged the front yard of a residence.

November 6
6:22 p.m.  100 blk. Timberleaf Dr. – Solicitor Complaint – Officers responded to a citizen complaint regarding vendors without permits going door to door in the neighborhood.  Upon arrival officers explained Town of Double Oak ordinances to the solicitors.  One solicitor ignored the officers and continued to go door to door.  A citation for solicitation without a permit was issued.

10:47 p.m.  100 blk. Cedar Crest Dr. – Noise Disturbance – A concerned citizen reported a loud party.  Responding Officer made contact with the host and was told they would turn down the music.  One hour later the officer responded to the same location regarding a  noise complaint and issued a citation for Disorderly Conduct.

November 7
3:51 p.m.  400 blk. Cross Timbers Dr. – Fireworks Complaint – A concerned citizen reported fireworks being used.  Upon arrival the officer found a juvenile male who admitted to using firecrackers.  The juvenile’s father was contacted and both were informed that it is a Town ordinance violation to use fireworks.

November 9
4:54 a.m.  4600 blk. FM 407 – Assist Agency – A Double Oak officer assisted Bartonville P.D. and the Denton County Sheriff’s Office with a vehicle verses horse collision.  Upon arrival it was determined that the horse had four broken legs and needed to be put down.  Officers were unable to immediately locate the driver of the car as it appeared to have left the scene.  Upon sunrise the vehicle and driver were found approximately 1/4 mile away from the collision and off the road.  After hitting the horse the vehicle crashed through a fence and ended up in an irrigation ditch.  The motorist was care-flighted to the hospital.

November 10
10:40 a.m.  1200 blk. Pecan Dr. – Assist Agency – A Double Oak officer was dispatched to assist Bartonville P.D. on a prowler call.  No suspects were located.

November 12
12:24 a.m.  100 blk. Hwy 377 – Assist Agency – A Double Oak officer assisted Argyle P.D. by watching the occupants of a vehicle while the contact officer conducted a vehicle search.

2:50 p.m.  300 blk. Oakview Dr. – Alarm – A Double Oak officer responded to a residential alarm call and found an open door.  The Officer searched and secured the residence.  No signs of forced entry of criminal activity were found.

3:34 p.m.  100 blk. Meadowknoll Dr. – Suspicious Vehicle – A concerned citizen reported a suspicious vehicle in their neighborhood.  Vehicle was gone upon the officer’s arrival.

November 13
7:39 a.m.  5400 blk. Chinn Chapel – Alarm – A Double Oak officer responded to an alarm call.  No criminal activity was detected and the home owners were contacted.

3:25 p.m.  7800 blk. FM 407 – Assist Agency – A Double Oak officer assisted with traffic control on a major accident being worked the Denton County Sheriff’s Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety.

November 14
1:37 a.m.   13000 blk. Raceway Dr., Northlake – A Double Oak officer was dispatched to assist Northlake with a disturbance call.  No action was taken.

3:43 p.m.  100 blk. Oak Trail – Suspicious Activity – A Double Oak officer was dispatched to an unknown man looking through a dumpster.  An officer made contact with the subject and advised him he wasn’t allowed to be searching through another persons dumpster (which was located on private property).

7:50 p.m.  100 blk. Chapel Hill Dr. – Barking Dog – Homeowner was contacted about their dog barking and running around loose.
