Congressman speaks to Argyle business owners

Former Argyle resident and current Congressman Michael Burgess spoke to chamber members Thursday morning about the potential short and long term effects of the midterm elections outcome.

Burgess also told the crowd what he was hearing in his district from residents.

“Everywhere I go, people are concerned about jobs,” said Burgess. “Do we really need another federal program to stimulate job growth or should government just get out of the way?”

Burgess faces Democratic nominee Neil Durrance and Libertarian candidate Mark Boler for the 26th District congressional seat on Tuesday.  Burgess has held the seat since 2002.
