Real estate firm cooks out for kids' sake

Victor Myers Real Estate recently held a donation-only cookout benefiting PediPlace at a model home on Mulholland Drive in Highland Village with about 100 people in attendance.

True to the company’s vision of investing in the lives of people by giving time, skills, and financial support to social and humanitarian efforts on a global level, the real estate brokerage raised $2597, the equivalent of 175 children’s wellness visits, to present to the local non-profit organization that provides high quality healthcare services to uninsured children.

President/Broker Bryan Hutchinson selected PediPlace as a designated charity of Victor Myers Real Estate after hearing Executive Director Jasmine Holmstrup speak at a recent luncheon.

“Victor and I both had humble beginnings and could not be the men we are today without the help of so many people in our own lives,” said Hutchinson.  The two met during a real estate transaction in 2007 immediately prior to Hutchinson taking a customer service position with the company.

“We both have a heart for children’s issues and I was completely overwhelmed when I realized the impact PediPlace is making on our community,” he said.

Event sponsors included One Specialty Interiors, Grapevine Dodge, AKD Landscape, Shellman’s Fine Wine & Spirits, and Rapid Med Urgent Care.

When Victor Myers Real Estate Company was launched in January of 2010 as a sister company to their custom home business, Hutchinson and Myers identified several goals for the company.  “We wanted give back.  We wanted to continue to provide the highest level of customer service to our clients as they solidify one of the most significant decisions of life, the selection of a home.  We also wanted to provide a better quality of life for real estate agents and employees of our companies,” said Hutchinson.  “We established a business model that allows us to accomplish these goals.”

Some additional plans Hutchinson is working on for their “Give Back” campaign include giving homes to families in third world countries, providing scholarships to student leaders, feeding the hungry in our local neighborhoods, and providing funds to local causes that directly impact the lives of people.
