Former Argyle Mayor Yvonne Allen Jenkins, 74, passed away last Thursday after a long illness at her home in Argyle, where she was born on August 11, 1935.
A lifelong Argyle resident, Jenkins served as the town’s mayor for 14 years and was the founder and curator of The Argyle-Argyll Room, a private museum dedicated to Argyle located in the historic Meadows Building at 512 N. Highway 377.
A public funeral service for Jenkins was held at Argyle Town Hall on Tuesday afternoon.
