Bank adds SVP, prepares for expansion

Northstar Bank of Texas announced that Julie Meyer was recently brought on board to lead the bank’s continued Denton County expansion into the Flower Mound/Highland Village area.

A 26-year veteran of the banking industry, Meyer was named Senior Vice President of Business Development and will office temporarily out of Northstar’s Lewisville Banking Center at 543 W. Main Street.

Plans are in place to have a presence in the FM 2499 corridor in the near future, according to bank officials.

Meyer has been a resident of the Flower Mound and Highland Village areas since 1993, and is a graduate of Texas Tech University with a BBA degree in Finance.

She previously served on the Board of Directors for Pediplace in Lewisville, Coppell Chamber of Commerce, the grants committee for the Dallas Women’s Foundation, and currently serves as the Chair of the Board for Parenting Alone, a non-profit in Carrollton, TX.

Meyer and her husband, Steve, have three children – Danielle, Casey and Joshua, along with their long-haired Dachshund named Gracie.

Denton-based Northstar is the largest locally owned bank in Denton County, with ten branches and assets of over $800 million.
