Exploration Exasperation

Members of the Argyle–Bartonville Communities Alliance, a group of residents concerned about a centralized gas drilling waste facility being constructed near Frenchtown and Jeter Roads, staged a protest on May 24.

About a half dozen protestors blocked a convoy of work trucks from entering the site for about 30 minutes before Denton County Sheriff’s deputies arrived.

The 7-acre site, being developed by Tulsa, OK-based Williams Production, is located in an unincorporated area of the county between Argyle and Bartonville, about three miles west of Lantana.

Plans call for 12 wastewater tanks and possibly a small gas-lift compressor station to serve nearby wells in Argyle, according to Williams officials.
