On its third day of operations, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Flower Mound received its first volunteer service donation provided by the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas Brownie Troop #282. This was the first self-initiated community service for the troop, who recently began their journey through the Brownie Quest, which is designed to help develop skills and values young girls need to become leaders.
The Brownies’ goal was to help ease the waiting time for patients and their family and friends by providing reading materials and coloring books to the hospital. The troop collected several magazines, purchased coloring books and crayons, and ordered four magazine subscriptions with proceeds from their cookie sales.
Following the service ceremony, the hospital staff treated the troop to cookies and ice cream and a mini tour of the hospital.
