Double Oak Police Calls – 4/16

Recent calls reported by the Double Oak Police Department:

April 9
8:19 p.m.  Burglary In Progress – 100 blk. Timber Leaf – An unknown van and flashlights were observed at an empty house.  Upon further investigation it was determined that a representative for Wells Fargo was changing the locks on a house in foreclosure.

April 11
2:48 p.m.  Telephone Fraud – 100 blk. Oak Trail – Resident reported that an unknown person placed a collect call to their home and asked them to dial #72.  There are variations of this scam, but in general the person calls requesting assistance and then has their expensive long distance or collect calls forwarded to your phone bill.  The unknown caller claimed to be in Harris County Jail.  Resident refused to comply and notified the police.

11:37 p.m.  Assist Argyle P.D. – 8000 blk. Hwy. 377 – Double Oak P.D. assisted Argyle P.D. with a hit and run accident.

April 12
9:35 p.m.  Identity Theft – 100 blk. Foxtrot – Complainant reported that an unknown person stole their identity and used it for financial gain.

12:42 p.m.  Motorist Assist – 7000 blk. Waketon Rd. – Officers assisted with removing stranded vehicle from a roadway.

11:03 p.m.  Assist Bartonville P.D. – 2800 blk. FM 407 – Double Oak P.D. assisted Bartonville P.D. with a major accident.

April 13
5:05 p.m.  Solicitor Complaint – 200 blk. Cross Timbers – Residents reported unknown solicitors in the neighborhood.  Officer was unable to locate.

April 14
2:29 p.m.  Fraud – 200 blk. Oak Trail – Resident received a phone call from a person claiming to be from the Harris County Jail.  Resident refused to comply with their request to dial a specific number and notified the police department.

April 16
1:50 a.m.  Assist Northlake P.D.  – 7500 blk. I-35W – Double Oak P.D. assisted with DWI investigation.
