The Summit Club, Women of Flower Mound, and The Mound Foundation, along with the youth group of Grace Community Church, are teaming up to present the 37th Annual Easter Sunrise Service on The Flower Mound this Sunday, April 4.
Organizers suggest that patrons arrive between 6:30 and 6:50 a.m. for the free event. The service will start around 6:55 a.m. and last 20 to 25 minutes.
“Sunrise on Easter morning is 7:11 a.m., so we are hoping for a beautiful sunrise during the services,” said Albert Picardi with the Summit Club.
This year, the youth group of Grace Community Church is presenting the service. Light refreshments and coffee will be provided.
The Mound, an 11-acre native prairie grassland that rises above the surrounding area, is located northeast of the intersection of FM 2499 and FM 3040. Over 300 species of native flowers have been identified on The Mound.
Parking for the event will be available in the Tom Thumb parking lot.
“Because of the nature of native prairie grasslands, comfortable clothing is recommended over your Sunday best,” said Picardi.
