Flower Mound officials are asking motorists to be aware of temporary lane closures on the south side of town this week.
Bridge beams for the Spinks Rd. extension project will be delivered on Monday and Tuesday at various times starting at 9:00 a.m.
Large trucks carrying the beams will travel northbound FM 2499 to Spinks, and then proceed eastbound past Gerault Rd. to Garden Ridge.
Due to the length of the beams, it is necessary to use all travel lanes to make the turns, officials said. When the trucks turn at FM 2499 and Spinks, police will temporarily shut down northbound FM 2499 and both directions of Spinks.
Gerault Rd. will also be shut down in both directions when the oversized loads cross the intersection.
The trucks will pass through three times throughout each day, and motorists should expect delays, according to town officials.
