NAMI to offer free classes for families of mentally ill

A new support group has formed in southern Denton County to help people deal with a family member or friend diagnosed with a serious mental illness.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness Family to Family Support Group offers information, support and advocacy for family members of those diagnosed with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic attacks or other severe anxiety related disorders.

The group meets twice each month on the first and third Monday at 7:00 p.m. at Crossroads Bible Church, 8101 FM 407 in Double Oak.
