Flower Mound Chamber President steps down

Andy Eads, Chairman of the Flower Mound Chamber of Commerce announced Friday that Katy Taggart has resigned her position as the President of the Chamber of Commerce.  Taggart has served as the Chamber President since January of 2007.

Under Taggart’s leadership, the Chamber increased its membership and revenue by over 35% and doubled the number of major investors, according to Eads.

“Her skill, hard work and focus were critical to the transition that led to the unprecedented success the Chamber has seen the last few years,” said Eads.

Taggart said in a press release, “I am most proud of the additional programs that we have added during my tenure here.  Unity in Community Award Ceremony, Senior Resource Connection, Mayor’s 12 at 12 luncheons, our Advanced Leadership Program, LEAP Retention program, just to name a few.”

She concluded, “More revenue and services allowed us to add staff.   I am pleased that this Chamber reinvests its resources into more services and programs for its members. I appreciate the opportunity of serving the Flower Mound Chamber of Commerce in a staff capacity.  The Chamber will always be an organization that I will look back on with fond memories.”

Taggart did not indicate the reason she was leaving the Chamber in the press release.

“I, and the board, wish Katy the best of luck in her new pursuits,” said Eads.

Eads said that the Chamber board will consider the appropriate steps regarding finding a replacement at its next regularly scheduled meeting.
