Drilling Down for Answers

Nearly 200 residents of Argyle, Bartonville, Flower Mound and the surrounding area braved torrential rains Thursday night and made their way to Harpool Middle School in Lantana for an Open House and Town Hall meeting to discuss the proposed compression station and wastewater facility on Jeter Road and other gas drilling related concerns.

Representatives from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality talked about the air quality study they are conducting, officials from the Texas Railroad Commission explained the permitting and regulation process, and State Health Department representatives talked about the childhood cancer cluster study in Flower Mound and the town of DISH resident health survey. A question and answer session followed the presentations.

The event, which ran nearly five hours, was hosted by State Representative Tan Parker (pictured) and Denton County Commissioner Andy Eads.
