Instead of running away when the boss comes around, these employees are running for their boss.
MaLinda Hammond and Tiffany Garza from Flower Mound investment advisory firm Saunders & Associates, along with Tiffany’s husband, Victor, are participating in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Dallas Half Marathon benefitting the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation on March 14.
Their team, called Saunders’ Team for Life, was formed after Saunders & Associates owner and 20-year Flower Mound resident, Barbara Saunders (pictured), was diagnosed with breast cancer last November. After two surgeries, Saunders has a good prognosis and is currently undergoing chemotherapy.
The team’s goal is to raise $10,000 for the foundation. Hammond said that anyone who wants to join them and can individually raise $1,000 is welcome to participate.

Hammond has other fundraising ideas, as well.
“We are also going to hold a bake sale on March 6th,” said Hammond. “We will have a lot of baked goods available for a donation and plan on having refreshments and balloons for the kids.”
