Greater Lewisville Arts Alliance Angel Awards

The Greater Lewisville Arts Alliance (GLAA) presented its annual Angel Awards on December 13, 2009.  The GLAA is dedicated to the development and promotion of the fine and performing arts for the enrichment of the quality of life in the greater Lewisville community.  Each member arts group honored one outstanding volunteer who had given time and talent generously for the year. The GLAA also honored two individuals who have given significantly to the benefit of all of the area arts.

The ceremony was hosted by the Musical Feast Choral Society of Greater Lewisville, in cooperation with The Episcopal Church of the Annunciation in Lewisville. Master of ceremonies for the occasion was R Neil Ferguson, GLAA and Lewisville Lake Symphony board member. Presenters were Melinda Stephens, City of Lewisville Events & Promotions Specialist, and Gordon Roe, GLAA Chairman. The ceremony was followed by a reception and a Holiday Choral Concert.

The 2009 Angel Award recipients and their awarding organizations (from left to right) are: Gene Cary – Greater Lewisville Arts Alliance, Nancy Kimbrell – Actors Conservatory Theatre, Karen Westphal – Greater Lewisville Arts Alliance, Robert McClellan – Lewisville Lake Symphony, Bill Thorne – Greater Lewisville Community Theatre, Wanda Grice – Visual Art League, Cheryl Johnson – Lake Cities Ballet Theatre, Christi Martin – Lakeside Arts Foundation, Cindy Richardson – The Colony Playhouse, Toby Rotman – Musical Feast Choral Society of Greater Lewisville.
