Local Candidate's Forum Scheduled

The Denton County Republican Club will host a forum for candidates participating in the March 2 Republican Primary this Thursday, January 7th.

Organizers said that the hopefuls for Denton County District Attorney and Probate Court Judge will face off at the event.

District Attorney incumbent Paul Johnson and challenger Brent Bowen are scheduled to appear.  Johnson is currently involved in a racial discrimination lawsuit filed last month by an assistant district attorney.

Gilland Chenault, Bonnie Robison, and Robert Ramirez are looking to replace Judge Don Windle, who is stepping down after five terms.

The candidates will have the opportunity to give an opening and closing statement.  Written questions by the audience will also be submitted to the hopefuls.

“This will be a great opportunity for the public to meet and ask questions of the candidates for these two races,” said Denton County Republican Club president Jim Crouch.

The forum will be held at 7:00 p.m. this Thursday, January 7, at the Lewisville Chamber of Commerce building, 551 N. Valley Parkway.

All members of the public are invited to attend.  For more information, call Crouch at 972-436-4216 or [email protected].
