Plan Ahead for Camp Expo
The Blanton Elementary PTA is making plans for their second annual Summer Camps and Activities EXPO on Feb. 20, 2010. The event, sponsored by The Cross Timbers Gazette and LantanaLinks.com, allows parents to learn about summer camps and activities in one convenient location. Help Kids Stay in School
Communities In Schools of North Texas has kicked off their third annual 1Child Giving Campaign. This year, every dollar donated to CISNT during the 1Child Giving Campaign will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $25,000, by the Lantana Education/Charitable Foundation.  You can support CISNT’s dropout prevention programs by making a tax deductable donation from now through Jan. 31 at www.CISNT.org.

Library 101 Workshop
The Flower Mound Public Library at 3030 Broadmoor Lane is offering a free workshop on Monday, January 25th at 7:00 p.m.  Participants will learn how to navigate the Library’s new catalog and web site and discover resources that are available to help with research, home work assignments, language learning, test taking, and job searching.  The workshop is open to all ages.  Call 972-874-6165 to reserve a spot.

Volunteers Needed to Prepare Tax Returns
The United Way of Denton County needs help from the community for its Volunteer Income Tax Assistance sites in 2010. Volunteer tax preparers provide free basic tax return preparation for low to moderate income families in Denton County. Training begins Jan. 9 and will take from 10 to 12 hours to complete. Volunteers are asked to give two to four hours of their time each week to assist at centers from early February through April 15th. To volunteer, call 940-383-1508 or 940-566-5851.
